WHAT IS FITstl?
FITstl (Functional Innovative Training stl) is a small group personal training studio that provides an innovative approach to functional training and strength training. Simply put, functional training is the training of your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks. Therefore, it requires the use of various muscles in the upper body and the lower body at the same time, while emphasizing core stability. Inside and outside of the gym, we all move in three dimensions, so we benefit from training our bodies that way. There are small adjustments that can be made to traditional exercises that can make them more functional.
FITstl provides several options for training to meet your needs. Whether you choose to train in a small group with a partner, with a few people or in a group class, you win! Establishing goals, maintaining accountability, and receiving instruction and encouragement will build a stronger, leaner, YOU!
Kerri Simon, owner of FITstl, has been working in the fitness industry for many years. During this time, she has taught spinning, developed and taught a variety of group fitness classes and worked as a personal trainer with private clients as well as partners and small groups. She is passionate about fitness and continues to implement functional training into her own workout programs. As a mother of three children, she understands the importance and necessity of functional training. The all-encompassing philosophy of functional training not only addresses and strengthens the entire body, but requires less time in the gym. The core stability and strengthening component are essential as our body’s age and change.
In addition to her personal training certification, Kerri also holds certifications in TRX training, group fitness training, sports conditioning, and Johnny G certified spinning.
